Personal Training Lessons for My Daughter

So what’s up?

Is it safe to say that we all know how bad the obesity epidemic is with “our” children these days?

I’m sure you have heard that for the first time in history parents are expected to live longer than the current generation of children?

Craziness…

How is it that these parents have become so lazy and so irresponsible? You know kids will eat whatever is put in front of them right? You also know that if you feed them fresh fruit and vegetables from the time they have their first tooth they will continue to eat them…

Kids don’t know the difference. They don’t know what fast food is. They don’t know what processed sugars are and how bad they become in large quantities. Where are the parents?

Well I’m here for my daughter, along with her beautiful mother, teaching her the right foods to enjoy and eat. We even attempt to feed her everything organic that we can. We want to develop healthy habits in our 22 month old.

So this brings me to the purpose of this post…

I have this tiny little jalapeño plant. We are teaching her to take care of it. Though I don’t expect her to eat from the produce of the plant, I do feel I am teaching her a lesson about caring, nurturing and patience. And if we can manage to help her keep the plant alive, I plan on getting some red, yellow or orange pepper plants.

There is nothing better than home grown food.

So here is a couple pictures of Hadassah (my daughter) and her cousin Baily watering the plant.

Developing small, healthy habits leads to a LONG, healthy life. Teach your children to be healthy. Teach your children to take care of themselves the correct way.

From Daytona Beach’s most trusted personal trainer… lay the proper foundations and take care of the next generation of children.

Daytona Beach Body Just In Time For Summer Part 2

Hey everyone, I hope you all are doing awesome and making great gains in your fitness goals.

Here we are in part 2 of building your Daytona Beach Bikini Body. In part 1 I covered the importance of nutrition and understanding that what you fuel your body with will make or break your fitness goals.  You can train and exercise until pass out with a dumbbell in your hand, but if you don’t eat the correct foods, you’ll never make the true progress you’re missing.

Beach Bikini Ready

Now in part 2 of getting that bikini body, I will cover the training aspect. I want you to remember that not all training and not all exercise is created equal. Keep reading and you will find out how to effectively use your time to burn the most calories possible. I want you to see how intensity interval training that combines both your resistance training and your cardio training is the PERFECT formula for a lean tummy to show off at the beach this summer.

So what do I mean by intensity interval training?

Intensity interval training, also known as metabolic training which is now made mainstream by the infamous Jillian Michaels, is a training strategy that varies your heart rate throughout the workout by changing the intensity level.

So what does varying your heart rate and intensity level really do for you?

By raising your heart rate, bringing it back down and then elevating it again, we create a scenario that forces your body to respond by jacking your metabolism way up high!!! This can be accomplished by  precisely placing your exercises in order that maximizes  your training effort. Why run/jog for 40 minutes when you actually can get a better fat burning workout in 15 to 20 minutes with a specially designed interval training workout?

Plus, it’s not boring this way… Boring sucks.

I hate running. The body wasn’t designed for endurance running. Short bursts for survival, yes… but not marathon distances. Now, I’m not saying running marathons are bad… just that the body wasn’t designed for it. So why not workout more efficiently with metabolic style training?

Boot camp style workouts are a perfect example of metabolic and intensity interval training. I incorporate cardio style movements with body weight exercises with other resistance training. I kick your ass…

But my girls love me for it, because it works? I get the evil eye. I get the grunts & complaints during the boot camp class. But after it’s all done, I get smiles, high-fives and thank you’s.

jenBootCampStar1jenBootCampStar2 Jen lost 77 lbs!!!

From one exercise to the next to the next, the boot camp training is effective for burning off that fat and getting you into that beach bikini that you want this summer.

If your not training this way and would like to try this out (for FREE), then sign up for my one week (3 workouts) trial. I will make you work, but you’ll thank me over and over again… just like the rest of them.

Daytona Beach Body Just In Time For Summer Part 1

OMG! It’s hot already.

Florida’s 4 days of Spring are long gone and the heat is here for the next 6 months or so. And with all this beautiful weather, it encourages many of us living on the World’s Most Famous Beach to haul our lazy selves out of the house and spend some time in the sun. I’m personally looking to spending some time outside with my wife and 20 month old daughter this year… I got to spend last summer in Iraq.

For most of us, spending any amount of time outside equates to less clothing and exposing our daily fitness lifestyle disciplines. Bring on the Bikinis! Read More »
